The Meaning of Home

Have you ever taken the time to wonder what really makes a house a home? This is a question I don’t think people stop to consider very often. There’s many things that could be said about the topic “home”, such as: the meaning of home, moving houses and what it’s like living in a rented home. What makes a home in my opinion? I think as long as a place makes you feel safe, you can consider it a home. Considering a house a home is what actually makes it a home. If you don’t, it’s just a place you can stay. Having a positive connection to a place is important as well. It ties into the fact that you should feel safe in the home. A home means a safe and positive place to me. Next, my perspective on moving. I recently moved and I don’t think it really affected me all that much. There wasn’t a very strong connection between me and the old house, that’s why I didn’t really care. According to me, moving isn’t a big deal. Following moving, I live in a rented house. It's not much different than living in a “normal” house. You just need to be careful with what you do sometimes. Such as being careful not to scratch the walls on accident. That's pretty much it though. I don’t think living in a rented house is weird at all. Lastly, from the meaning of home, living in a rented home and moving houses, that’s just a few of several things you could talk about. A safe house is what a home is to me, living in a rented home just means being careful and moving isn’t that bad in my opinion. What exactly makes a house a home to you?
