Meaning of Home

Home. My childhood remains in the walls of my home. My comfort lives in my home. My safe spot is my home. I feel safe and comforted. I have two homes. But one home is always enough. My home is like my light switch. I turn it on and I feel happy. The light switch has wires connected to it. Each small wire contains a happy memory or thought. If I keep the light switch on long enough, I get all those happy memories blasted at me at once. I always try to keep that light switch on, because it contains all the reasons why home is so important to me. Comfort. My comfort is made up of lots and lots of things. Most of those contain spots and things I do in my home. Every one of those comforts are important to me. One of those comforts that is a really big one is my dog. My dog makes me so happy and I just don’t know what I’d do without him. He always knows when is the best time to cheer me up and play with me. Another comfort from home is my bed. My bed is soft and warm and at the end of the day I love to jump in my bed. My couch is another comfort of my home. It’s a spot where I can just sit and relax and forget all my worries. Food is a big comfort in my home. When I’m coming home from school and I’m hungry, I have food and it is a very good feeling, especially when the food is already made for me. The last comfort I have and love at home is entertainment. It’s so nice to laugh and enjoy watching a movie with my family or play a game with my family. I love all the comforts I have, they make up my home and everybody deserves them. My family is the most important thing to me. They’re the last thing I’d want to lose. My parents are so special to me and make me feel safe and comforted. I’d never want to lose them and they always try to be there for me. Even though my parents don’t live together, I still love them so much and see them every few days. My siblings are fun to play with and they are so kind sometimes. I love playing games with them, especially when they’re being really kind to me and treat me nicely. I don’t know what home would be without family. My home makes me feel safe. But safety is made up of 4 main things. My parents make me feel protected and safe. The locks on the doors help me feel safe too. The locks on the doors block out, not just fears, but bad memories. Another thing that helps me feel safe is my comforts, like my bed, couch or my dog. The last thing that helps me feel safe is my bedroom. When I’m in my bedroom, I feel safe and comforted. I believe my home is not just family and comfort, but also safety. If you are not feeling safe in your home, that’s okay, but safety is a big part of what home is. Home. To me, home is comfort, family and safety. I try to keep the light switch on, which contains wires with my comforts, family and safety inside. The light switch is the meaning of home. I love my home so much. When you first buy a house, you may just think that it's just a house, but a house and a home are very different. A house is a structure or shelter for someone, but a home has your own light switch to turn on and have all your comforts and memories in. I really wish everyone had a light switch to turn on.
