A Small Word with a Big Meaning

Home. Home is a very important word, its short, only has four letters, but it’s meaning huge! Home is where you are loved, feel safe, and can be yourself without feeling judged. In my home I am surrounded with people that love me and don’t judge me. Even thou sometimes we disagree we are still a family and love each other and make up for it. When I am at home, I feel loved and spend time with those who love me. Home does not always have to be the same place, home can change overtime, for example just because you grew up somewhere and had special occasions like birthdays and hangouts, doesn’t mean that if you move your home will always be there, because you will make new memories, and it will become your new home. So, you see, home is much more than just a building or a house, it’s a space where you can be yourself, feel loved and much more! I am very lucky that I have such a wonderful home, a family, and food to eat because not everyone does. My home is where I learned to become the person I am today, where I learned to walk, talk, and have fun. Home is a space where I can create new things, be myself, wear comfy clothes, learn from my mistakes, and most importantly, grow to become a better person. I think that every child deserves a home, and nobody deserves to feel unloved, judged, or not have a home. I would like to thank Habitat for Humanity for doing such a great thing and I hope it will continue in the future. I would also like to thank all the volunteers out there that are taking the time out of their day to help build homes for those who don’t have any and giving the chance to kids and adults to have a home.
