Meaning of Home
Do you have a house or a home? You might be thinking: what is the difference? I used to think a house and a home were the same thing, just different words. I was wrong. A house is somewhere warm with walls and a roof, but a home is a feeling. You can’t just walk into a random building and feel at home. To be at home, you must feel comfortable to cry, to get mad, to be excited, to be happy and everything in between. Where I live, I feel good not only from the way it feels but also because of my family. They are the real reason I have the sense of home at all. I am lucky to experience such a feeling. Not all people are this fortunate. That’s why I wrote this, so others can be aware that there are people in the world who need help finding shelter. Habitat for Humanity is here to partner with people to build a space for them to enjoy. Everybody deserves a safe place they can call home.
