A happy home
What is a home? Webster’s defines it as “A place (such as a house or building) in which a person lives.” But a home is a lot more than that! A home does not have to be a building, it’s where you feel right. Where you feel like you belong there.
A home is a place you feel happy. You feel safe, secure, cherished, and loved. A home is a place to go. You feel like yourself at home. Home doesn’t have to be a physical place, it’s where you mentally feel that you are home.
Frustratingly, home isn’t like this for everybody. To some people, home is dusty, dank, violent, and sad. That is nowhere near okay. I can’t think of one person on this planet who deserves a home like this. But sadly, many have homes like that.
Imagine waking up every morning and being scared. Scared because you live in an unsafe environment. Kids and adults alike go through this every day. No matter what your experience is, you would want to make a difference. And you can!
There are many ways to help! You could work for habitat/safety-related public service jobs! You could join the annual Habitat for Humanity contest! Volunteer at the local humanity shelters and other non-profit organizations! There are plenty of ways to give hope to the less fortunate.
In the future, I think everybody can hope that nobody has a bad home. By helping people in bad homes, you are changing lives. Changing lives for the better, isn’t that amazing? You should always do whatever you can to make every home, a happy home.
