What Home Means to Me

Home is many things, it's fun, happiness, forgiveness, trust and love, but most of all it's about the people. ‘’A house is not a home without the people who live in it.’’ That quote is very true. When I go camping in a trailer, it's my home for the week. If I have a sleepover with my grandparents it's my home for the night. No matter where you are you can always find a way to make it feel like home. Someone told me once that instead of saying ‘’my moms house,’’ I should say ‘’my house at my moms,’’ because it's still my house even if I don't live in it all the time. That made me realize that even if my parents are divorced and I have 2 houses, it doesn't matter because I'm home with the people I love. Home also is care free. It's a place where you can let loose and be yourself. You can put all the things you have been through that day behind and live in the moment and when you need to talk to someone people will be there to support, love and care about you. If you get in an argument that's ok because that makes your bond with the people stronger. When I grow up and move out I will always know that no matter where I am, what I do or where I live my home it has prepared me for the long journey ahead.
