Meaning of Home
My name is Sakina and I absolutely need to tell you why my home is completely special.
My home is always special to me because I don't need to hide my real self. I can show my true self. I can be open and honest.. Plus, I have all I need and many awesome experiences, like when I get to bake with my family and when my baby sister came home from the hospital. These memories are so important to me. My home is irreplaceable and one of a kind.
If I did not have a house it would be so hard, but I would still have an open hearted and invincible family. I would not feel as safe without a house, but we would still be together. This is why Habitat for Humanity is a beautiful organization that helps so many people get a home that is right for them. It is so necessary that all people have a safe house and home to live in.
In my opinion, a home is not a structure - it is so much more. A house is the building you live in, but a home is a whole community of people that love one another and do not give up on each other. In my home, I live with my mom, dad and my sister. But, we also have a nanny. I call her aunty. She is from Philippines and helps us a lot. You don’t have to just live with your nuclear family. She is not related to us, but she is still someone we love and honor. I also have a cat and he is also part of our family. It does not matter how big your house is. What matters is if you all love each other and you feel safe.
My family is my heart that cheers me up when I am down. They make me smile and it is like magic to me. We also have arguments sometimes and that is okay. A house is like a bone - it can break but it can mend. I am so grateful to have a home and one day I hope everyone in the world can have one too.
