What Home Means to Me

Home means somewhere you can feel safe and protected, somewhere you’ve made mistakes and achievements or just a cherished memory you carry around with you and will remember about and make connections to. Even if your home has 4 walls and a roof, a family home or just a home in general. There's a difference between house and home, a house I feel like it’s just a structure with walls, floors, a roof and a place you can stand in, a home to me feels like a place with memories, family, pets, siblings, water, food and shelter, but some people don't have all those nice things, they might not have or enough of water, food, shelter, clothes and warmth. That's why I’m trying to spread kindness. We must stand together and create a big gesture so we can make a difference to spread awareness so people young and old , all types of appearances, all races, all genders and all people can have a safe spot to call home. All people deserve homes and some people can’t afford homes, maybe because of medical problems, a natural disaster or more, it’s not just about not having a house or losing your house, it’s about losing your home. No matter how many times your address changes, you can have a place to call home but some people don’t have that so remember you're lucky to have the things you have. This is why it’s important for me to write this, how would you like to not have a home or be in an unsafe environment? Please spread awareness, have compassion for the people who don’t have a home. All humans deserve a home! We have a privilege for having the things we have, we also have protection in our home. I’m lucky to have my family, pets, food, water, shelter, warmth and a home.
