The Meaning of Home

To me home means family, happiness, joy, fun, laughter, gratitude, appreciation, love, etc. However there are many different meanings of home. Some would say home is not a place it's where the ones you love are or what brings you happiness, although I can agree, to me home is a place, a place where your loved ones are, a place where you make memories, a place where you are free to be yourself without feeling judged. Some people think home is where you live, where you keep your personal belongings, information, etc. and although that is true that isn’t what home means to me. To me home means somewhere where I can relax, rest, or be free. Home to me is a safe place where I know I can do what I need to, feel what I want, and be who I want. Home is where I can share and express my feelings to people who I love and trust most, and where I know that there will always be someone who supports me and who loves and cares for me, and there will always be someone who understands me and has my back. Home to some people is when they can be themselves, where they can express themselves, where they can tell even the most terrible jokes and someone will laugh, or where they feel appreciated. To some people home might not even be a place, to some people home can be an emotion, a person, or feeling, or a place where they can be themselves no matter what or where they are. Home to me is a place where my family, my memories, my feelings, and my happiness is. It is a place where I can be myself without questioning who will be judging me or where I can express my feelings and know that at least 1 person will care. Home to me is being able to be me.
