Meaning of Home to Me

Marvin J. Ashton once said, “Home should be an anchor, a port in the storm, a refuge, a happy place in which to dwell, a place where we are loved and where we can love.”. He was stating that home is a place where everyone should feel safe, have the things they need, and that love should be existent in a home. Home should always be comfortable and safe. Marvin J. Ashton’s quote is what home means to me. In particular, home means family, love and essentials. Family is relevant to a home, and here's a couple reasons why. My family looks after me and makes sure I’m always safe, sometimes a little too much. One reason I love them so much is because they are MASTERS at cooking and baking. I NEED my Dad’s bread and my Mom’s cupcakes. Lastly, they are just loving people in general, and that’s why I love them. Similar to my family, love is a huge part of the meaning of Home for me. Love can mean several things. Friends and family are a part of Love. Everybody together is a part of love. Pets are a part of love too. Love doesn't have to mean all three of these things, it means so many more. Another bit of the meaning of home are the things you need. Everybody needs food and water. A safe shelter to live and thrive. Other essentials to guarantee a safe environment to grow. To end, the home should be a place of safety and comfort which should include family, love and essentials. As Marvin J. Ashton once stated in his quote, home should be a place of love.
