Home
I know I'm home when I hear my dogs playing,
my family's laughter,
the smell of my supper being cooked.
Home is a place where I feel loved and safe,
a place where I feel the warmth of my family.
A home to me is not four walls and a roof,
but the love that grows inside.
When I am upset or hurting,
I think of my parents and siblings,
I feel the hole in my heart being filled with their love and joy.
Fresh bread being baked,
turkey in the oven and veggies bubbling on the stove,
and just the smell of my family,
remind me of home.
I wish everybody could have a home as great as mine
because everybody deserves that.
No matter how old,
no matter how young,
everybody deserves a home.
