What is the meaning of home?

What does home mean to me? Home does not necessarily have to be a place, property or structure. It could mean the people, food or environment. So back to the question, what does home mean to me? What truly contributes to someone feeling home? First of all, the people around you could make you feel at home. If your family and friends are around, you would feel like at home or that you belong there. If your loved ones weren’t there, you would feel like you don’t belong there or the same as before. Second, another factor that contributes to someone feeling home is the environment. Like in the last reason, the general people, how they act is part of the environment. It could also be either, the landscape. Is it a crowded city? Or is it a beautiful natural place? Whichever makes you comfortable may contribute to your feeling at home. Last, feeling safe, both physically and emotionally also contributes to feeling at home. Physically safe could mean whether your home has low criminal activity or crimes, which could make you feel safe. But being emotionally safe is the hard thing to explain. It’s whether you feel safe with your feelings or emotions. Home could either be a feeling or a structure. In conclusion, I think that the people, environment and feeling of safety contributes to someone truly feeling at home. Home could either be a place or a feeling.
