What Home Means To Me

Home. Home is a word that really stands out from others. Home, sanctuary, abode or residence they all mean the same thing. But home to me has love, family, cherished items and the feeling of safety. Love is really important. Love also ties in with family. You have to have love in your heart to make a house your home. Love or having joy creates the warm feeling in your heart which affects your home in a positive way. Sharing love with your family helps you build a better home and a better you. Home is where you start your journey in life with the love and support of your community. Cherished items. Cherished items can be a special toy from your childhood or a favourite book or a photograph of your family. Maybe these memories did not happen in this particular home but they travelled with you into this house. These memories filled this house turning it into a home. Safety - a powerful word. The feeling of safety helps you settle in with comfort and feel protected, knowing other people care about your welfare and health. The feeling of safety helps you go to bed every night with a relaxed mindset also looking forward to the morning ahead. Four good reasons for what home means to me. Love, treasured items, the feeling of safety and family. And there are four family members that are special to my home. My mom, dad, brother and me. To round out my family, our pet dog Bella! So what does home mean to you?
