The Meaning of Home
A place where I grow; the one where I sow,
The seeds of love that nurture without woe.
A nest that shelters the baby chicks,
The one that the mother worked hard to fix
Hugs and kisses and some fights,
Bright sunny days and cozy nights
A flicker and a crackle of a fireplace
That fiercely warms the pack in its base
A haven for the cold and lost,
Wraps you snug without a cost
A toasty, tempting, mellow bed,
To welcome the one feeling dead
The scent of freshly baking cakes
Winds around the hills and lakes.
A garden of flowers that blossom and dance,
To welcome my uncles and aunties and grans.
A shoulder to lean on, an ear to lend,
A big fat family is the latest trend!
A place where I can feel free,
A place where I can let me be!
This is a place that I call my home,
The place to be after all I roam.
