A Home Forever

“Get out of my way moron!”, the truck driver says as he screeches to a halt in front of me. “What are you doing wandering about the busy city streets?!” I just run away. “EWWW,” I think, “those rats that are as big as my head really give me the willies! “Oh look,” I say as I find an over ripe banana splattered on the grungy ground of the alley. “MY BREAKFAST,” I declare as I dig in! Just as I finish, I hear the words that I have been fearing for my entire life “GOCHYA!” I feel a beefy hand clamp around my shoulder! Next thing I know I am in a cell with raggedy blanket that serves for my bed. I am homeless! I fall into my dream world. I dream about how wonderful it would be to get food when you are hungry and water when you are thirsty. When I come home the smell of cookies, the sound of MY family laughing and talking, and the warmth of the house wraps around me. I dream, dream that everybody has a home like the one in my dream! I wake with a start. At that moment there’s a creak of a door opening, all I see is a finger pointing at me and words I’ve wanted to hear for a long time, “she can come live with us!” After a short drive a little cozy comes into view, and I see three friendly faces peering through the window. The door opens and everyone yells, ”WELCOME HOME!” ”Oh how wonderful it is to finally have a home! I have good food, a family that loves me, I am always warm and safe but most importantly I have a home forever! P.S. My family gives the best ear scratches! THE END
