Why Home Is So Special!
The day I finally opened my eyes to this world I was in a house. It was unexpected, there were colors and shapes and so many people. Well, I thought it was just a house, but as I grew I realized it was more than simply a house, it was a home! A home has memories, it is where memories are made. A home is a place where we laugh, cry and smile together. A home is a place where we can dance, sing and live life to the fullest with the people that you love or just with the people that you appreciate. A home is a place where you don’t have to feel lonely or scared because you are protected. A home is a place where it doesn’t matter if you are family or not, you are welcomed. A home is a safe space. I appreciate my home.
When I was younger I didn't think too much about the importance of a house, and in some ways I was correct. Yes, it’s important to have a roof over your head to protect you from the elements, however it’s not the bricks and mortar put together in a certain way that are meaningful, it’s what lies inside. A home is fun, it’s surprises, it’s celebrations. A home is acceptance, it’s forgiveness, it’s belonging. A home is family, it's love, it's LIFE. A house allows you to live, but a home is what makes you alive. I want everyone to have a house to protect them, but my big dream is that everyone has a place they call HOME!
