A Home For Me
I moved one day to a house,
It was just a structure,
The smell of drywall filled the rooms,
It looked so empty.
Unpacking all the supplies
So many boxes to unpack.
Two of my sisters were nowhere in sight.
Now to this day I walk inside and see
The joy in their eyes.
The smell of shepherd's pie fills the air
And thoughts of sitting with my family.
Sitting down tucked in blankets,
Asking my sister to play
Getting to sit down to eat
Even though it's late
The laugh of my family
Is still there.
Even though we talk about
The weirdest things, it's still a blast.
