What Home Means to Me

Home is a very special and important place, but what does it mean? It means somewhere people live, somewhere we can feel comfortable. Try to imagine someone’s home, a normal one, not anything special. What did you see? Probably a house that looks like one you’d find in your neighborhood, but have you ever thought of the difference between the meanings“Home” and “House?” It’s not just windows and roofs, it can be caves or rocks. Home is a small word with a very large meaning, and if you think about it, you realize home doesn’t mean house, it means where someone lives. Someone can call their house home, but others can call their street home. Home doesn’t always offer comfort in the ways you think it would. If someone asked me how comfortable I feel at my house at night, my answer would be pretty comfortable, but of course that’s not the case for everyone. Let's say I lived outside on the street, that would be my home. However I wouldn’t feel comfortable sitting there at night, but I would most likely feel scared. So how does home offer us comfort? Well it offers us somewhere to sleep, and sleeping is very important, and whilst you sleep at your home, no one can think that’s odd for you to sleep there. So if you put two and two together, you realize you feel comfortable sleeping at home!
