Home...

Home… Many people have more than one house. Each house might mean different things to them. However, whatever house they are in, if it is home, most people feel: welcome, defended, respected, cared for, warmth, and accepted. Other people might have a place that doesn’t feel like home, or they don’t feel that safe feeling that is welcoming at their door. I am utterly grateful for my home. My home is where all the things that I have are in, and I am very thankful for that. Just imagine after a long day of hard work and you're exhausted, and you just want to enjoy the rest of your day and you want to order some pizza, pepperoni, meat lovers, and plain cheese. It comes to your door, fresh and very warm and you got a discount! Imagine that. Amazing. You open the box and there you have your pepperoni with cheese and meat lovers with the bacon, meat, and all that cheese just melts in your mouth. You just shove it in your mouth, and it’s the best feeling in the world. This is the feeling of being home. Now you open the plain cheese box and you see there's nothing on the pizza, just some flat bread! Dejected, you're just sad for the rest of the weekend. That's what I would feel like if I didn't have a home: miserable, downhearted, despairing, sorrowful, tearful, pitiful, and mournful. Luckily, I love my home. I am glad I have a home. It's the best home I could ever have, because whenever I feel loved at home, I have this warmhearted feeling like a snug campfire that makes me feel welcome. My home is where my family is, and family is really important to me because they are kind to me and respect me, they care for me, they love me. They are at my home, and it wouldn’t be home without them. Home is the most important thing for humans. There is more in my home that makes it my home. For example, I am grateful for safety. Everyone should have a home with good memories, love, laughter, comfort, family and friends, and of course safety (oh, and ice cream). My mom and dad are in separate houses and both of them are home to me. Half of my family is in Mexico and that's my home too! A person can have many homes. I feel like if I ever move to a different house one day it would be really hard for me to call it home, but maybe I could learn to call it home, because my family would be with me. They would provide me with all the things I need for a home. There are things that don't mean home to me, and do not belong in my home. A place with no laughter, no kindness, no happiness, no satisfaction, without cozyness, and no great thoughts about each other is not a home. It would be very depressing to feel that in my house, but I don’t and that's why I am grateful for my home! The home that I have, and the home that will forever be mine. It is beautiful (and her name is Martha)!
