What is home?

Most people refer to home as just walls and a roof, but home to me is way bigger than that. It’s the beating in my heart that gets faster for the people I feel safe with and can build true bonds and memories with. My home is definitely not just a place, it’s the people inside it. Even though I have my ups and downs in my house ,struggles with my mental health and the divorce of my parents both of my homes are amazing, blood related or not! They feel like home and that’s all that matters. Home is a place to feel safe and be able to take things off your shoulders. Luckily I was raised in a loving and supportive household with the people I love, because of my home I am where I am now but I always think of those who don’t have a house or anything to call home. I would be honored to help out. This essay helped me realize how lucky I am to have a place to call home. Now I can help others have something to call home and that’s why I wrote this today, thank you.
