What home is to me
A house is a structure,
A home is an idea.
The words are so similar,
Yet they are so different.
A house may be an apartment,
Or it may be a mansion,
But it depends on the owner,
If it is a house or a home.
With or without a house,
It matters, But what matters more is,
If you have a home.
A house shelters one from weather
But a home shelters one from pain and stress.
A house contains people, furniture and items
But a home contains memories, emotions and hope.
When Habitat for Humanity gives a house,
They not only give a house, but also a home.
When you move from place to place,
You do not feel rooted.
But if you have a home, You will grow roots.
And those roots contain memories, friendships, hope, joy and love.
