Home Is A Feeling

Home Is A Feeling (The Meaning of Home) By Mateen A. Home is a strange word with many meanings. For example, it can mean a place. Home can mean a place to relax, or a place you feel is safe. It can mean a place to play. With friends, or alone. It can mean a place to feel loved, by your loved ones. It can mean a place to talk, with people you love and trust. It can mean a place to express your love, with your loved ones. It doesn’t matter if your loved ones live far away. They will always feel near. But home can also mean a feeling. What do I mean? Well, when you like living in a place, the place feels like home. A house does not automatically feel like home. For example, a really old worn-down house isn’t a very nice place to live in. However, when a house feels like home, you like to live there. You may even get attached to the house. And that’s okay. If you feel home in a house, that’s good. Anyways, what is the FEELING of home? What does it feel like? Well, here’s what I think. It’s the feeling of joy and happiness. It’s the feeling of being safe and sound. The feeling of friends and loved ones talking and laughing. The feeling of love, and being loved. And that’s what home means to me. ඞ I hope you enjoyed reading this short “essay”. I wrote this because of the contest, and I really hope this “essay” can help some people without homes in some way.
