Home

Home Take a deep breath and imagine sitting on a warm couch. Smell the delicious food being made in the kitchen. You feel safe. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a safe place to sleep and eat. You are lucky to have a home. Houses are not the same as homes. Homes are safe, happy places. While a house is just the shell of a home. When you first move in the house will start to become your home. I have known many people who have had to leave their first house and make a new house their home. I’ve never had to do this but I’ve heard it can be exciting but also sad. Your home will alway have memories of you, good and bad. Home will have reminders that you have a safe space to go when you need it. Houses and homes are different. People may struggle with money which can cause them to lose their home. We are so lucky that we have a place to go. The exact number of homeless people is unknown but it is around 2,376 people. This is really sad. Hopefully by 2023 everyone will be in a safe place, whether that is a shelter or home of their own. We need to help each other. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a home. To me home is a safe place to relax and destress after a long day of school. A calming yet chaotic place to be with the ones you love. The memories in photos all over the place. Laughter almost always fills the house. It's a safe place to be you, a place to be happy and sad and not be judged. I love going home sitting in my room and just taking a few deep breaths. Home should be a calming happy place for you to feel safe. Each person's home is special to them in different ways. Your home is special. So I hope each and every person reading this will be safe and happy at a place they can call home. Have a good day/evening wherever you are in the world! Katie
