That's what a home really is

Home, this word can mean lots of different things to different people. But to me, home is a place where I feel safe, and I feel I belong and where there are memories too! Home is where I feel safe. I feel happy because my family lives here and I love my family. My parents and grandparents all look after me which is why I feel safe. Being safe is also the protection I get. I am safe because I am protected from the cold and the outside world. Those are some of the reasons why I am safe in my home. My home is where I belong. In my home, I belong because, again, I am loved. I am loved and that is what makes me feel that I belong here. In my home, if I have to say something, my family members listen to me, or at least they consider it . Either that thing is as little as changing the taste of the soup that I eat or something as big as moving houses. Another thing that makes me feel like I belong is that I am treated like I am their family member, not any stranger. One of the main things that make a house or a home, other than our families, our memories. Memories, either good or bad, are what make bricks, cement, and walls, a home. We are all joined to our homes this way with the memories we’ve had. And home is special because it holds an important place in all our hearts. “Home is where you feel loved, appreciated, and safe.” Tracey Taylor (a psychotherapist) just summarized what I wrote about. Home is where you feel safe, where you belong, and where you are appreciated. What does “Home” mean to you?
