What Does Home Mean to Me?

What does home mean to me? Home, to me, is not just a house, it’s having a safe, warm, comfortable place to stay, it’s making memories, and it is a place that brings your family together. Having a safe, warm, comfortable place to come back to after a long day, is what makes a home. Home is a place where you can relax and still feel that you are safe. If you come home upset, I bet your family can always fix that by a simple smile. I know when I come home from school grumpy, my parents and brothers will find a way to make me laugh and forget that I was even mad. Knowing that I can come back to a safe place, is what makes a home. Even during the coldest winters, a home will always be filled with warmth and comfort. Everyday at your house you and your family are making memories. Those memories can be anything from your first time walking, to family movie night. Even though some of your memories in your house may be shared tears of sadness, I’m sure there are many more memories that are shrieks of laughter. My family shares many funny memories of laughing at the dinner table or at old videos of us dancing. These memories that you make in a house is what makes it a home. And last, but certainly not least, home is togetherness. Yet during the toughest times, a home brings everyone together. Being together makes us stronger, because having more than one person is always going to be better. If our family is together we are unstoppable. Especially when we have support, kindness, and love. Togetherness will strengthen your bond together and a strong family bond is what makes a home. If your house has all these things, then you are lucky to have a place to call home.
