The Feeling of Home

Home means so much more than just a place. It’s a feeling. The feeling of love and trust, joy and safety. It’s the way I feel when I’ve had a bad day, and I open my door to my house. The immediate relaxation that I experience. The thought that maybe things won’t be as bad as I think they might be. Home is the way I feel, living with my mom, dad, sister, and brother. Home is the way I feel when we’re all together. A home is not the same as a house. A house is made of bricks, wood, and stone. It’s just a building, built by a builder. Homes are made of hopes and dreams, built by loved ones and family. Homes are much more important. Over the years, I might need to say goodbye to a house, and find a new one somewhere different, but the feeling of home will always stay the same. It will always be there, so I’ll never feel alone. So, I’ll never feel like things are hopeless. The feeling of home will always be there to help me. It will always be there to put me back on my feet. I’ll never need to say goodbye to the feeling of home. Of course, home isn’t perfect. Some days I fight with my sister or brother, sometimes I argue with my mom or dad. But no matter how annoying my siblings are sometimes, and no matter how unfair I think my parents can be, the feeling of home still lies true in my heart, and it will never leave.
