The Meaning of Home

Home is laughing at my clumsy, playful cat. Home means being surrounded with support. Home is my colourful, excitable family. Home is the laughter my hilarious cat, Habs, brings me. He tries to eat off my plate. Once I was eating a breakfast supper. I put my hashbrown down to start my homework and my cat jumped on the table and took it! He brought it to the floor, took a nibble and left it. Another time, I was playing with a laser light. I pointed it on the window and he literally jumped up and jumped smashed into the window! He fell back onto the couch and ran away. Habs is so funny. Home is being supportive to my family and my family being supportive to me. When we were doing online school, I found it very difficult because I lost track of time and it was tough to focus. My family encouraged me by telling me I could do it. I also encourage my brother with his drawing, telling him “practice makes perfect.”. I’m a picky eater! This year my family decided to choose a different place on the globe and make a meal from there. This helped me to try new foods that I wouldn't have liked because it looked weird or different. Home is family. Even though we are unique characters, we still find a way to get along. We talk out our problems and are understanding when people need their personal space. When my step brother and I had a fight, we were able to talk to each other and have a great time together eating fondue. My home is a lovely, exciting place to be, full of support, family and my weird, annoying cat that I love and makes me laugh.
