Meaning of Home

Home is not just a roof and four walls. It's where the heart is. Where you feel the most comfortable, where you can be your absolute self and where you will not be judged for the way you feel/act. Home has a special scent. It reminds me of my small childhood blanket I own that is very soft to the touch. The smell is like being loved, it makes me think about all the memories I've had with it. Like camping, sleepovers, walks when I was younger and so much more. I feel at home when I come to school, and see all my friends having fun and smiling. They are my safe space. I know I can trust my classmates and teacher with anything. They make my true laugh and smile come out and that's what I am most grateful for. I feel at home when I get to see my brother and when we play games. I know I can tell him anything and he would never snitch. He's my best friend and I don't know where I'd be without him. He makes me feel safe, he cares about me and so much more. When I feel most at home is when I'm on the basketball court. With all my friends cheering me on. I feel at home when I'm going up against good teams so I have to try my best or when my basketball team and I have to travel and we get to stay up late running around in the hotel and laughing until we can't breathe. That's what home means to me :)
