Everyone Needs a Home

Home is not a place. It is a feeling. What I love most about my home is who I share it with. Home to me is my Mom. She makes our home special. There is nothing more important than a good, safe, secure home. Home is a place where you grow up making memories. When I think of home I think of fun birthday parties, magical Christmas morning, and even just having a safe space to cry on days when I feel bad. Home is not just where I was raised, but where I play, laugh, cry, and learn. Now it is even where sometimes I do school. Because of my home, all the things I have, and my family in it, I have become strong, intelligent, and confident. My bedroom door is covered in positive affirmations so even when I walk in my room I am remided about how smart and strong I am. When it's holidays my mom decortates our porch so I am always excited to get home on those special days. Home is where I can be me. This is how I feel aboput home, and I want everyone in the world to be able to feel that way too. I wrote a poem to show my feelings. Home Home is warm. Home is kind. Home is sweet. I have a home. Home is safe. Home is secure. Home is shelter. I hope you have a home. Home is family. Home is fun. Home is quiet. Everyone NEEDS a home. Alyssa Yannacopoulos
