Houses and Homes

Home to me is more than just four walls and a roof. It’s more than three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It’s much more than an unfinished basement. It’s a lot more than a structure. A home is a place where you live. You can also live in a house. But there is a big difference between a house and a home. A home is a place where you can be happy and safe. It’s a place where you feel loved and comfortable. Most importantly it’s a place where you can just be yourself. A house could be a home but if it's not a home it might be breaking or the house is too big or small for the family living in it. It might have problems like mold or water damage. Homes and houses protect you from the weather. But houses don’t always protect you very well. Sometimes a house can turn into a home. But that doesn't happen often enough. Houses and homes come in all sizes big, small, or in between. I know that the place that I live in is home. I know that because I feel comfortable and safe in it. I don’t want to move out of it. It feels like the perfect place for my family. I’m very lucky that I have such a great home. Everyone deserves a home no matter who they are, what their background is, or how big or small their family is.
