Having a Home

When I get home after a bad day, I feel better. Home is a peaceful, cozy place where I can relax and think. Home is a familiar place, which makes it feel safe. Home is a place where you can make memories with your family. Families are a big part of a home because they give love, comfort, and support to each other. A house is just a physical structure made of concrete, metal, and wood. Once a family moves in, adding love, joy and memories, it becomes a home. People without a home have no protection from the weather, bad people, or wild animals. If you had no shelter from these dangerous things, you would feel scared, cold, wet, sad and anxious all the time. Living under all that pressure would be extremely hard. Having a safe, affordable home is essential for humans to be happy and grow. I feel warm and fuzzy on the inside knowing habitat for humanity gives people a chance for a better life. I love that Habitat for Humanity is giving this contest to opportunity to kids like me so we can realize the importance of home. This way, when we grow up we will want to make a difference in our communities through helping others in need.
