Hours that we debated,
Not a single minute would be wasted,
To perfect something that we own,
For our lovely home.
Home, sweet, home,
A place one can freely roam,
A place one can feel safe,
A place one can seek aid.
Joy and laughter, all familiar,
Something we’ll never reconsider,
Without worrying our days are numbered,
With certainty we’ll live up to one hundred.
Home can take shapes in many forms,
All with the purpose to keep us warm,
A luxury all should enjoy,
Home should belong to every girl and boy.
I am grateful that I was given this opportunity to write a poem of my own and to be able to support such a noble cause. Even if I am not able to place, I am hopeful that even my ten dollar contribution will really help someone. The gifts are merely a bonus in my heart, I believe the true gift is to help others.
