The Meaning Of Home

Some people think that home is just bricks and a roof but it’s actually a place to store memories and to feel safe to be yourself. Home is a place to draw, colour, paint, and play. When I think of home I think of family, friends, love, happiness, and fun. Home is a place I feel safe and where I can go when I’m feeling slow. When I’m home it helps me think and feel. When I’m home it helps me love and connect. When I step into my home I don’t feel so alone I feel more than that, I feel like the best. My home catches all my memories and stores them right into my heart. Home is a place for everyone. Rich or poor, home is a place that everyone deserves to have a chance with. Home is a place where I relax, calm down, and rest. I think of home as the community around me. When I’m home, in my body I feel safe and comfortable instead of unsafe and uncomfortable. My address might change as I go on but the memories will never change. Having a home makes me realize how lucky I am to have shelter and a loving family. A home big or small, the little things inside mean it all.
