A home is a good place to have for many different reasons, but some people don't have one. _____________________________________________________________________ First,a home is warm in winter, keeps you dry in spring when in rains, and it is cool when it’s hot _____________________________________________________________________ Second, a home keeps you safe in storms. For instance when there was a tornado my home kept me safe because we went in the basement. This was in 2016, the year I moved to Manitoba and there were no tornadoes in Halifax so this was a big change for me. _____________________________________________________________________ Third, a home helps you have a good sleep. When you have a good sleep it helps you work better and study better. So a home probably helps you make more money. _____________________________________________________________________ Overall, a home is a place where you sleep, eat and do other things too. A house is also warm and safe in all kinds of weather helping people get a good sleep. There are different types of home like a mansion or a homeless shelter. _____________________________________________________________________ There is an NBA player named Chris Boucher who plays for the Raptors who grew up homeless in Montreal. He had to sleep on friends’ couches or at bus shelters and then he had to work to get money for food and then his friend introduced him to basketball. When people look at him they think he is so lucky because he is in the NBA, but he was not lucky. It would be hard to be him.
