The Meaning of Home

Home can mean many different things, to many different people. To me, home is a place where you are loved, and where you sleep at night, feeling safe and secure. That, however, is only my opinion. Home could just be a place to shelter from the night. Home could be a place to enjoy family moments, to gaze at the past while it sits in its frame. Many people think that home means you fit in with people there, or it's just the area you are inhabiting. I think it has a deeper meaning. Home is with the people you love, where all of the things I just described are all merely things you can do. Home means you are safe and loved by the people who surround you. Home is where you are cared for, where the people who make you laugh when you are upset or hand you medicine when you're ill, watch over you. Home can mean many different things, to many different people, the only certain definition is what we can find in a dictionary. A home is not only a place, but it's also a feeling, a feeling we must cherish. So, you may ask, what is the meaning of home? Well, it depends on the feeling you get surrounded by loved ones. That feeling is a feeling of home. Time and time again I have the joy of experiencing the feeling of home, and I hope you have the same emotion that I can enjoy every day. “A house is made of bricks and mortar, but a home is made by the people who live there”
