What is Home?

What does home mean to me? It’s a place where I don’t feel amiss. Home is where the heart is, A place to find my bliss. Home is where I can go when I’m feeling down, To cheer me up and erase a frown, Maybe with a few comforting words, Or a funny face from a family clown. I believe that everyone deserves a home, No matter their wealth or power. I believe that everyone deserves a home, Where they can find peace, at any hour. Home is my comfort zone, Where I can laugh with my family, Or just rest by myself, reading a good book. Home is where I’m truly happy. I fill my home with lots of love, To share with family and friends. In my home, I don’t have to worry, Or try to keep up with trends. What does home mean to me? Home is a place where I can be me, Never judged or criticized, With all my quirks and oddities. I believe that everyone deserves a home, No matter their past or histories. I believe that everyone deserves a home, To fill with happy memories. A house is different from a home, But how can that be said? A home is welcoming, safe and free, A house is a roof over your head. A house is a building, Where some people live, A home is a welcoming place, Where people laugh and give. I believe that everyone deserves a home, No matter their religion or race. I believe that everyone deserves a home, As their fun and joyous place. But not everyone has a safe or comfy home, No matter how we wish it would be. I believe everyone should have a home, Because who doesn’t deserve to feel happy, safe and free?
