What Home Means to Me

1 in 3 people don’t have safe homes to live in. That means 1 in 3 people don’t feel comfortable in their own home, but it's not like that for me. For me, home is somewhere where I can be myself and not get judged. It's somewhere where I can go after a long day and just be happy. Home is where my family is. It’s where I can kick off my shoes and relax. Home is where I can lay in bed all day and do absolutely nothing. It is where I spend my sick days and where my best memories are made. Home is where I sleep every night and where I can wear whatever I want. Home means that I can be happy, try new things, do nothing, do everything, watch movies, make snowmen, go swimming, be with the people I love, decorate my room, have my own happy place and do whatever makes me happy. What's the difference between a home and a house? A house is a structure that people live in. A house is a building made from brick. A house is something that people buy or sell, but a home is so much different. It’s so much better. A home is where your family is. A home is where you have your own space to go, decorate, and sleep. A home is where the best memories are made. Home is where the best bonding happens. Home is where you connect with the people you love and the people that love you. Not everyone had that home growing up and my heart goes out to them. I think we need to change that. Everyone’s home should have running water and a bed for everyone. A home should have enough food for everyone, and it should be a place where you can express yourself. It should be a place where you feel comfortable, warm and cozy. I think everyone needs a home like that. In conclusion, I think home is a place where you can be yourself and feel loved. What does home mean to you?
