What home means to me: By Rayyan Balkhi

What home means to me.. Home is a safe and my comfort zone. A place to live with our families and pets and enjoy with friends. A place to build memories as well as a way to build future wealth. A place where you can truly just be yourself. Humans, however, add layers of significance to home and place. Home gives us security, control, belonging, identity, and privacy, among other things. "But most of all, it's a place that gives us centering—a place from which we leave each morning and to which we return each evening. A place does not necessarily have to be an apartment, house, or a dorm room to be a home. A home is any place where you are comfortable, and feel as if you can be yourself. ... It does not matter whether your home is outside in nature or in an apartment, as long as your heart is there. Home has always been a gathering place, shelter, and, providing escape from the busyness of the world. Much thought about, treasured, and longed for as an anchor of our existence, home has been the subject of abundant written works and other cultural products. We need a house because it protects us from heat, cold, rain, wild animals and thieves. ... All living being such as animals, birds, humans, need a place to live. It keeps us safe from bad weather such as rain, sunlight, storm and other natural disasters. That's why we need a house. A house is just a physical structure, while a home is lived-in (often by a family) and full of memories. A: "I know it hurts to move to a new town, but we'll have a new house there, and B: "Oh, a house is not a home! It won't be the same!"
