When I walk into my warm cottage-like home, I feel safe. I am greeted by my loving little brother with a warm hug! “ I love you Addy” he tells me. I unpack my bag and help my mother in the kitchen. When we are done making supper, I help her make dessert. As we put the apple cinnamon pastries in the oven, I feel at home already. I go and join my brother and my father in the living room. They are watching a movie called Frozen. I laugh and say “it suits the weather outside!” I join them on our comfortable couch and watch the rest of the movie with them. An hour later my mom calls us into the dining room to enjoy her dinner. After coming inside from the cold I smell the apple cinnamon pastries, I feel happy and safe, but more importantly I feel at home. Home is a place where my family lives and so do I. Home is a warm cozy place where I feel safe. At home I have all the things that make me feel cared for. The warmth from the heaters makes me feel cozy at night. When it is cold outside, I feel warm and safe inside, especially when my mother and Nana are cooking. Dinner is the best at my home especially when the warmth from the oven and the heat off the food makes my tummy rumble. My mother and Nana’s cooking is the best. I love when they make my favourite dinners. Sitting at the table with my family surrounded by love always makes me feel cozy and peaceful! After dinner we sometimes on, special occasions, have desserts. My family always makes unique desserts, and always finds a new way to make my mouth water. Dinner at my house is very appealing. But Sharing traditions is better. My favourite traditions I made up with my family. Traditions like eating pancakes on my birthday and opening one present on Christmas Eve! These are all fun traditions my family do! My mom also makes different type’s of food’s. Like from Mexico one night, and Japanese food another! I love when my mom makes Mexico foods because she usually makes chillies and burritos and they always make me feel so cozy and at home. We usually either do this out of the blue or on special occasions. All of these things are what makes me feel cozy inside my home. From baking to watching movies to traditions or even just family time! These are things that make me feel cozy. What makes you cozy inside your home? Addison
