Not Everybody Has a Home

Some kids hang out after school for a few minutes. Other kids play for an hour or two. And there are also kids who leave school right after dismissal. No matter what you do after school, you eventually leave. And where do you go? Home. Home is like a base camp. A place you can come to if everything goes wrong. A place you can safely make mistakes. A place you can seek shelter in. Wherever you go, you’ll eventually come back home. But, sadly enough... Not everybody has a place to be during those in-between times. Not everybody has a place to stay when danger presents itself. Not everybody has a place to go when they are dismissed. Not everybody... Has a place to call home. Nobody should have to bear the harsh world without shelter. Nobody should have to survive with only a rag and a cup. Nobody should have to deal with trying to find a place to sleep every night. Yet people do. They have to. And it doesn’t have to be this way. But thankfully we can change this.
