Home is Necessary

I was thinking about my ancestors and so I asked my parents what they would have lived like. My mom said that we are Irish on her side and Australian (she said this is basically the same thing). My dad said that his family was from the Black Forest Germany on his mom’s side and his grandfather made clocks and watches and Calcutta India on his dads side. They said that people lived differently. That a lot of irish people might have moved around and not stayed in one place or they were farmers or blacksmiths and they might stay because they had a specific job to do for the community. My Indian ancestry is from a place that is known for it art. I was thinking about how much our distant past, the past lives of our ancestors, truly affect how we live now. I also was thinking about how when I go on long road trips with my family I still feel at “home” even though we left our house. As long as we are with the people we love we still have a home.
