The Meaning of Home

Home is where, after a long day at school I can come to a place where I am safe. Some people don't have the privilege of a safe place to go in their time of need. Home is also where my dogs will be. Squiggles, Spike, Rasta, Little Foot and finally Wheezy are the dogs that cheer me up when I feel sad at home they help make my house a home. Home is where I play or do fun activities with my family such as baking or cooking the delicious traditional foods and making outstanding drinks. It's also where I eat and socialize with family and friends. Where we share fond memories and swap amazing stories with each other. I have great memories of frantically rushing around cleaning with my mom minutes before guests arrive. However, home looks a little different this year because my mom is a frontline worker on the Covid-19 pandemic. Covid-19 doesn’t affect the building we live in, but the people that make it a home. We still try to socialize with people online, but it's just not the same. Not being around a table eating fresh food together has changed my home. Home is truly what you make it and I am making the best of it together with my family! This is what Home means to me.
