My Home On the Crecsent

At the end of the school day I walk home, a few blocks away. When I approach my door I smell butter and chocolate with a hint of stinky cabbage My mom must have made cookies and my dad must have had kimchi. Overjoyed and happy I’m home. I run to find my mom to tell her about my day I feel relaxed and loved. I hear lil brother on the piano Butchering the song he is. Not knowing what he is playing I offer to help. Thank you, he says. I hear him play Oh how great he plays. The day comes to an end My mom is in my room We cuddle and pray I feel tired and loved I fall asleep all warm, safe and cozy I think how blessed I am. This is my home. We can all make a change to homelessness We can all give spare things Clothes, time, money and food. One little act of kindness Can mean a big thing to someone. Every little boy and girl deserves to have a home. Where they feel loved and safe! Just like my home. By Chelsea Chang
