What Home Means to Me

What does home mean to me? Home- when I repeat this word, I feel comfortable, warm, happy and relaxed in my heart. There is no word in the world that can make me feel this way. Every morning I wake up from my favourite place, my cozy bed. I feel happy and full of energy. I have a huge bed in my bedroom. I can jump and touch the ceiling. I can do cartwheels. I can roll around on the bed.l I can invite my friends to sleep over with me. My comfortable bed allows me to enjoy the freedom and the love that a child needs most. I remember when I was in grade one. One day, I missed the school bus after school time. I was terrified at that time. I did not feel safe and relaxed until I came back home. I feel lucky to have so loving and caring a home. I also pray for the homeless people in the world who are not as lucky as I am to have such a wonderful home. Now during the epidemic, Covid-19, the government requires us to stay home. No place in the world is safer than home. A home is not just a shelter, for me, it also means a family unit to love and support each other through the good and bad days. Home- when I repeat this word again, I smile.
