Houses and Homes
Home is where you belong, where memories are. It’s where you’re protected by love, family and safeness. When you enter a house, you’re cautious. In a home, your family’s the heart of your house, the part that’s alive. A house is empty, and waiting for a heart (a family) to move in and give it life. Effective things that your family gives, like memories, are what make the home grow.
All those events that happened (the time you drew on the wall) are memories. Memories are what shapes your house and you. If there weren’t any memories, your home would be empty, lonely (so would you). There’s nothing familiar, no things to remember. Memories stay with the people who experienced them, and then brought to a home, giving memories, giving life.
Home might not be a place, it might be who you’re with. You’re with loved ones, and they‘re supportive of you. You might not belong anywhere else, but that’s no problem. Because you have your family. Sometimes, belonging in a home isn’t always materialistic. If it’s with your family, but you might’ve just moved into a new house, then that house isn’t your home yet.
A house might not be as different as your home. It has bricks, a roof, but does it have a heart? The heart is your family, and the heart grows by creating memories that will always be invested in home. Houses have roofs, bricks, but no heart yet. It’s like a body: flesh and bones.Your personality is what makes you, you. Houses are like bodies, meanwhile homes are like humans.
Here I am, talking about homes, when others don’t have one. We can help our communities, and there are many opportunities to help people. Take those opportunities to make a difference.
