What Home Means to Me

Home is somewhere I feel safe, somewhere where I’m loved and somewhere where I am cared for. Then I stop and think about people who don’t have security, love and care. I think about people who don’t have homes, who can’t come home after a hard day, I start to feel sad. I cheer myself up by thinking that they have a home. To me, home is where the heart is. So it doesn't matter where you are, but who you're with. If you’re with your loved ones anywhere can be home. For me I was born in Singapore with my family and that felt like home, and then I moved to Victoria with my family and that felt like home. It was a big move but I was with my family the whole way. Then I realized anywhere can be home as long as you're with family. Home isn't just a house with a roof, it's somewhere you're loved and cared for. That is what home means to me.
