What Does Home Mean?

Home means a place of comfort and a place to stay safe and warm. A place where you were surrounded by people you love and who love you. It is a place where you can be yourself and where you feel you belong, our comfort zone. A place where we build memories with families and friends. A house is a place where you live life, like eat, drink, study, shower, sleep, dream, play and pray. It is where you have all your firsts, like first smile, first step, first tumble, first word, first birthday, first toy, etc. It is where we eat together as family and have movie nights with popcorn. A house is a place where we have families and friends gather for special occasions like our birthdays, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas and New Year. During summer we do planting, we have vegetable, fruit and flower gardens. We also set up an inflatable pool in the backyard and swim, play and eat watermelon and have barbecues. So if we don’t have a home, how could we do all of those things? Without the shelter that is given, how can we be safe? Without the presence of family at home how can we be happy and comfortable? Life is hard and meaningless without a house or a home.
