Home
When I think of home, I think of my warm bed
When I think of home, I think of being fed.
When I am at home I could share my feelings
When I am at home I understand it’s meanings.
Home is a great place to play
Home is a safe place to stay.
Home is a place to hide from diseases
Home is a place to do as you please.
Home is not just a shelter
It makes everyone feel better.
The front door greets us with a smile
It looks like it is alive for a while.
Step… step… step...
As you walk through the halls
You feel so grateful to have these walls.
Home is a person that keeps you safe and well
A home’s roof is like a turtle shell.
Sheltering you from the cold
A wonderful place to stay whether young or old.
I think about poor people who can’t pay their rent and fee
It makes my heart drop because I strongly disagree.
Some families could pay for a roof and it’s walls
But then they won’t be able to buy food at the stalls.
Being homeless is very tough
Just a small, wooden roof is not enough.
Everyone deserves a home to be warm
Everyone deserves shelter from a storm.
We all need a strong, stable roof
A home that is weatherproof.
A home that is bright
A home that has light.
After the war, many people were homeless
Without a home, they were nearly hopeless.
They had no place to call their own
They also had no money to return a loan.
Poor people need a space
Their own, private, peaceful place.
No one should ever have to roam
So let us help them get a home.
