What is a Home?

A home, a place where people live in peace A home, a place where people will be safe A home, a place where people are supportive A home is like a person. It has blood, a skeleton, skin and lungs. But the most important part is the heart. A home’s heart can mean many things to many different people. The home’s heart could be family The home’s heart could be love The home’s heart could be safety Just because you are living in a house doesn’t always mean you are living in a home. The house doesn’t make the home, the family makes the home. The frame, walls, plumbing, electricity, heat and even walls doesn’t make the home, you could break down all that but if the family was still warm, safe and happy it would still be a home. A home is like a shield it protects you from criminals and the cold. A home is also like a blanket, you feel protected and warm. Your family is the blood flowing through your home’s veins by making memories and living in peace. One more question I must ask you, it might be true: Is a home really home if you are not safe? Is a home really a home if you are not supported? Is a home really a home if you are not respected? Home. this whole poem sums up the meaning of home, one little word can mean a lot more than you think. By writing money will be donated to people who don’t have homes so shelters can build affordable homes. The meaning of home doesn’t have to end here there could be thousands maybe even millions more words that could describe home, but this is it for now. One last thing I should ask you, what does home mean to you?
