Home Means Many Things

Home means many things to me. Home is a beautiful thing. Home means the safety and comfort of the people I love. It’s a place where you can express your feelings, where you can cry without being judged. It’s when I create memories, and preserve them. Home is a place where I can be myself, be safe, and spend time with the people I care for. Home is not always a place, but a feeling. It cannot be made with bricks and sticky rice, but with comfort and love. It cannot be touched, but can be described. A home is when I create endless memories, great ones and - not so great ones. Since home isn’t a place, but a feeling - I can create memories with my friends and family anywhere we will go. There is a difference between a house and a home - and someone without a home will be lonely and desperate, for no one should live without it. Home is as beautiful as the stars in the sky, and just as strong - because once built, you cannot replace it. I can be safe in my home, because it’s a haven where I’m protected by the people who care for me, whenever I’m with them. My home has its own personality. It has the familiar sound of my grandmother cooking in the kitchen. It has all the stuffed animals laying around the house. It has the playful shrieks of my little brother playing with his toys. It has everything I could ever need in this safe haven of mine. At home, I can be myself. I won’t have to worry what other people think of me, because the people in my home are the people who I know care for who I am, and who like me for me. I don’t have to worry about what to wear or what to say. Home is where I can express my feelings and relax. I can be who I truly am. Who I’m meant to be. This is what home means to me.
